Bamboo is a strategic tool in the fight against climate change.

Bamboo is an amazing gras. It grows faster than trees and also holds CO2 much faster.

As a CO2 ‘eater’ Bamboo is able to capture more than a billion tonnes of greenhouse gas in China by 2050.

Bamboo is the world’s fastest growing plant and can give an enormous contribution to the reduction of CO2, according to a new report released at the COP20 in Lima by the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (NBAR).

Director General of INBAR Dr. Hans Friederich

“Bamboo is a special plant.”

Friederich wants to include bamboo forests in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He believes it is a strategic tool in the fight against climate change.

Therefore the world needs sustainable development policies, regulation and investment, all over the world
