Xylem Launches Range Of New Products For Wastewater Treatment And Control
Xylem has won a contract valued at approximately $2.75M to supply Wedeco-brand ultraviolet (UV) technologies to a wastewater treatment facility in the Vigo region of southwest Spain.
Kirsten Meyer, product manager for Xylem, said: “Due to the innovative inclined lamp arrangement and its highly energy efficient 600 watt Wedeco Ecoray lamps, total UV lamp count can be significantly reduced and maintenance simplified.”
Xylem has launched several new products recently, including a new retrievable aeration grid system that is designed to deliver efficient aeration in wastewater treatment plants and is intended to be a cost-efficient alternative.
The Xylem Sanitaire Eco-lift retrievable aeration grid features a new design and utilizes high efficiency Sanitaire Gold and Silver Series diffusers in order to reduce capital and life cycle costs associated with aeration systems.
Tube-in-tube design
The diffusers are mounted on structural frames, which can be lifted out of the basin for easy inspection and maintenance without having to disrupt the wastewater treatment process. The grid uses a tube-in-tube design, which requires significantly less steel as ballast to keep it under water than alternative products by up to 50 percent and results in higher and faster return on investment.
The grid features frames that are constructed of carbon steel I-beams or stainless steel square tubes, which produce a more flexible and stronger structure than a frame constructed of concrete, says the company.
Two types of lifting mechanisms are available: a lifting cable arrangement with a central mast to retain the cables above the water line and keep the cables taut, or four tubular lifting arms connected to each other at a central location above water level with a ring attached on top to easily lift the grids. The grid is suitable for both municipal and industrial wastewater applications.
New micro controllers
Xylem has also launched two new micro controllers:
- Flygt MyConnect
- Flygt MyConnect Wall
They enable customers to supervise and control water or wastewater operations easily and efficiently. Flygt MyConnect is a cost-effective controller that functions as a remote terminal unit, designed to control between one and four pumps.
Xylem als has developed a new, more energy efficient generation of its Wedeco SMOevo and PDOevo ozone oxidation systems.
25 percent more energy efficient ozone production
Xylem als has developed a new, more energy efficient generation of its Wedeco SMOevo and PDOevo ozone oxidation systems. They are virtually maintenance free and now incorporate Effizon evo 2G – a new technology which delivers up to 25 percent more energy efficient ozone production. It operates at very high cooling water temperatures and is able to provide very high ozone concentrations, says Xylem.
